David McMahon serves as Vice President of Client Services at NetReputation, where he leads the fulfillment team that helps individuals and businesses understand, manage, and strengthen their digital presence.

A proud Butler Bulldog with an MBA in Leadership, David began his career in finance before the financial collapse of 2008. He quickly pivoted to franchise operations, spending nearly a decade learning the inner workings of a vertically integrated business, from sales, finance, and vehicle service tied to a proprietary dealer management software that eventually tried to encapsulate technology and reputation. As the youngest franchise consultant in the company’s 30+ year history, he was part of the team that helped roll out a review management platform tied to an update to the company’s vehicle service computer software and interface. The initiative reached more than 150 locations nationwide and allowed him to train hundreds of hardworking people on how the intersection between customer service and technology could enhance the customer experience and build trust.

That experience revealed both the power and the pitfalls of online visibility, especially on how a few underperforming locations could influence an entire brand’s reputation. It also showed him that a single location, intentionally managed, can control its narrative regardless of what’s happening across the broader organization.

After meeting NetReputation CEO Adam Petrilli in 2019, David realized that the world of reputation management was far broader than just reviews. He joined the company’s sales team, eager to learn every aspect of the business from the ground up. Six years later, he continues to approach the work with the same curiosity and appreciation for how complex the online landscape has become.

Today, David leads a client services team focused on collaboration, problem-solving, and empathy. Most people—and many brands—were never prepared for how fast the internet would evolve or how public it would make every aspect of their lives and work. His team helps clients proactively take control of their online presence, providing structure and support in a space that often changes by the week.
